How we met

Michael and Cheryl’s whirlwind romance is a testament to the power of love and faith. They met on a Christian dating app called Salt on January 23rd, and just six weeks later, they got married on March 14th. Cheryl, who studied molecular biology in the San Francisco Bay Area, was drawn to Michael, a worship leader at Valley Christian Church in Tucson, Arizona, and a multimedia specialist at the University of Arizona. Despite their different backgrounds, they found common ground in their shared faith and love for music. Michael proposed to Cheryl on the very first day they met in person, and she said yes. They did pre-marital counseling with Michael’s pastor, who noted that they were an unlikely couple. Nonetheless, the couple believed that by keeping Jesus at the center of their relationship, they could overcome any obstacle together. Their parents were scared, and Cheryl’s mom did not approve of black people, but they refused to let negativity get in the way of their love. They got married in a small wedding on March 14th and are now working on building their marriage brand, MiAmorCheri, which aims to provide a platform where individuals can learn how to cultivate healthy and non-toxic relationships based on Christian principles. Their vision is to become a leading Christian YouTube channel and podcast that promotes healthy relationships built on love and mutual respect. Together, Michael and Cheryl are inspiring others to believe in the power of love and faith, and their journey is just getting started.
